GAITHERSBURG, MD — A man was hospitalized early Thursday after being hit by a car in Gaithersburg, police said. Montgomery County Police said the pedestrian crash occurred around 3:30 a.m. near the intersection of State Route 355 and Christopher Avenue. At the scene, a man was found suffering from serious injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital. Police said the driver involved in the crash, who was not identified, remained at the scene. The collision prompted authorities to temporarily close all southbound lanes of Route 355 between Watkins Mill Road and Christopher Avenue. By about 7 a.m., authorities reopened all lanes. Authorities are still investigating the crash.
