New Leadership, New Chapter: CCACC Welcomes Its 2026–2028 Board of Directors

The Chinese Culture and Community Service Center (CCACC) has officially welcomed its 2026–2028 Board of Directors, marking the beginning of a new chapter in the organization’s continued service to the community.

Following a thoughtful recruitment and selection process, the new Board completed its orientation and training on August 1st. Board members then elected the officers who will lead the organization during the new term: Chang Zhao, Chair; Timothy Chi, Vice Chair; Rose Li, Treasurer; and Hua He, Secretary.

The 15-member Board combines continuity with new perspectives. Eight directors are returning from the previous term: Ting Mei Chau, Terry Hsiao, Timothy Chi, Vincent Ko, Ben Wu, Hongqin Xu, Jane Yang, and Chang Zhao. Seven newly appointed directors—Crystal Ku Downs, Yan Gu, Hua He, Rose Li, Xiaoping Shao, Chunyan Yang, and Jingli Yang—bring additional professional experience, expertise, and energy to CCACC.

Building on a Strong Foundation

The Board orientation was held at the CCACC Art Gallery and provided members with a comprehensive introduction to the organization. The program covered CCACC’s history, mission, vision, core values, bylaws, nonprofit governance, financial position, programs and services, strategic priorities, current challenges, and future direction.

Board members also learned about their responsibilities in nonprofit governance and toured CCACC’s facilities. The orientation provided an opportunity for both returning and new directors to better understand the organization and one another, laying a strong foundation for future collaboration.

The new Board brings together a broad range of expertise, including entrepreneurship and leadership, science and technology, financial management, public service, and nonprofit governance. This diversity of experience will help CCACC strengthen its programs, respond to emerging community needs, and expand its impact.

Honoring Service and Leadership

As CCACC begins this new term, the organization also expresses its sincere appreciation to outgoing Board Chair Dr. Yuchi Huang and retiring directors Yuchen Yang, Mo-Ping Chow
, and Paul Li for their dedicated service.Dr. Huang, a longtime CCACC volunteer, reflected on the accomplishments and challenges of the past two years and emphasized the values that have guided the organization through both: love and care, sincerity and integrity, joy and harmony.

“We are one family,” he reminded his fellow Board members, encouraging everyone to continue working together to build a stronger CCACC and a better community.

CCACC Executive Director Rita lewi thanked Dr. Huang for the tremendous time, energy, and commitment he has devoted to the organization. She noted that his leadership and service have made a lasting impact on both CCACC and the broader community. She also expressed appreciation to the other outgoing directors and emphasized that they will always remain valued members of the CCACC family.

Looking Ahead Together

New Board Chair Chang Zhao, who is returning to the role for a second term, expressed gratitude for the trust placed in her. She thanked Dr. Huang and the previous Board for building a strong foundation and warmly welcomed the new directors.

Chang Zhao emphasized that the Board’s role is to provide governance, strategy, direction, and support. She also thanked President Wenying Sun and CCACC’s executive team for their leadership and dedication.

Looking ahead, Chang Zhao said the Board will continue working closely with the executive team to strengthen the organization and expand its positive impact through high-quality community services.

The formation of the 2026–2028 Board represents both continuity and renewal. Each director brings unique professional expertise and life experience, but all share a common commitment: supporting CCACC’s sustainable development and serving the community.

With the combined efforts of the Board, executive team, staff, and volunteers, CCACC will continue to build on its long tradition of community service while pursuing innovation, improvement, and growth.

A new term brings a new mission. Together, CCACC moves forward—united in purpose and ready to write the next chapter.
