Pedestrian Struck By Car In Gaithersburg Has Died: Police
A 33-year-old pedestrian has died after getting hit by a car in Gaithersburg Friday night.
GAITHERSBURG, MD — A 33-year-old man hit by a car Friday night while crossing the street in Gaithersburg has died.
Douglas Ariel Perez Martinez, 33, of Gaithersburg, died from his injuries at a local hospital on Tuesday, according to Montgomery County police.
Authorities said Martinez was hit by a 2012 Mercedes-Benz C300 near the intersection of South Frederick Avenue and North Westland Drive around 9:19 p.m. A preliminary investigation revealed that the Mercedes was traveling north on South Frederick Avenue when it hit Martinez, who was attempting to cross the road in an easterly direction.

Police identified the driver as Mike Nam, 32, of Rockville. Nam was not injured in the collision, authorities said.
The Collision Reconstruction Unit continues to investigate this collision. Anyone with additional information should call detectives at 240-773-6620.
