Police: Man Allegedly Admitted to Killing His Wife

Police are holding a man in custody in the death of his wife. Her body was discovered inside their Gaithersburg home Sunday.

Montgomery County police officers found June Carlita Beale, 47, of Gaithersburg dead inside her home with undisclosed trauma to her body Sunday. Officers are now holding her husband, Cola Winbone Beale, 51, claiming that he has allegedly admitted to killing his wife.

Officers responded to the home on the 18300 block of Hallmark Court around 10:25 a.m. Sunday after receiving a call from a parishioner of a church the couple attended, according to a news release. Cola Beale had allegedly called the parishioner and told him he had killed his wife.

Cola Beale was not inside the home when officers arrived and forced their way in, but officers were able to speak to him on the phone. Cola Beale allegedly admitted to the officers that he had killed his wife and gave his specific location in Norfolk, Va.

Officers from the Norfolk Police Department located Beale and took him into custody.

June Beale’s body was taken for an autopsy at the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore.
