Police said an electronic sign in a construction zone was hacked to display racist messages Sunday. A $10K reward is offered for information
BROOKEVILLE, MD — Officials say someone hacked into a sign in a construction zone and displayed racist messages on a Montgomery County road.
County police said callers began reporting the messages at 6:47 a.m. Saturday, saying an electronic road sign was "displaying a racist message near Brookeville Road and Georgia Avenue, in Brookeville."
"When patrol officers arrived, they discovered that the sign board, intended for construction safety messages, had been hacked into," said officials. "Officers were able to erase the message and arranged to have the sign removed."
