Several Displaced After MoCo House Fire

A Gaithersburg family was displaced from their home over the weekend after a fire broke out behind their refrigerator.

MONTGOMERY CO., MD — A family was displaced from their home Sunday after a fire broke out at their Gaithersburg home.

David Pazos, of the Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service, said the fire broke out in the 7700 block of Prince Hall Court. Crews were called to the scene just after 7:15 p.m.

Two adults and a child escaped the grounds without injury, Pazos said. Of the six dogs that lived at the home, four were rescued.

Authorities pinpointed the fire to the refrigerator, noting the blaze extended into a connecting room.

Officials have not detailed what caused the fire or the cost of the damage.
