Suspect Sketch Released in Robbery of Gaithersburg Cab Driver
Montgomery County Police say a $10,000 reward is being offered for an arrest in the armed robbery of a cab driver in Gaithersburg.

GAITHERSBURG, MD — Authorities on Friday released a sketch of a man suspected of robbing a cab driver at gunpoint in Gaithersburg.
Montgomery County Police say the holdup happened about 12:25 a.m. on March 21 near Bryan Avenue and Marshall Street in Gaithersburg.
A Regency cab driver picked up the man at the Shady Grove Metro station. The suspect said he wanted to be driven to the Londonderry apartments in Gaithersburg. While driving to the apartments, the suspect redirected the cab driver to Bryan Avenue and Marshall Street.

Police say when the cab arrived at that intersection, the man used a shotgun to steal the cab driver’s money and cell phone. The suspect fled the area on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash and property from the cab driver.
Detectives hope the public can help identify the suspect in the composite sketch.

The suspect is described as a black man, about 25 to 30 years old, weighing about 140 to 150 pounds. He has short black hair and scars or acne on the side of his face. He was last seen wearing a black jacket, black pants, and a black backpack.
Detectives are asking anyone who recognizes the suspect from the composite sketch or who may have information about this armed robbery to call the Major Crimes Division at 240-773-5070.
