Teen Dies in Early-Morning Crash: Police
Montgomery County Police are trying to determine what caused a vehicle driven by a Damascus teen to leave the road.

An off-duty Montgomery County Police officers came upon a single-vehicle fatal crash early Sunday morning in the Damascus area.
At about 5:07 a.m., the police officer found the crash site in the 8100 block of Damascus Road.
Investigators say a 2006 Cadillac CTS was eastbound on Damascus Road when it left the roadway and struck a telephone pole.

The driver, identified as Jeffery Mark Thornton, 19, of the 26100 block of Kings Valley Road in Damascus, died from his injuries at the scene.
This collision remains under investigation as police try to determine why the vehicle left the road. Anyone who witnessed this collision is asked to call the Collision Reconstruction Unit at 240-773-6620.
