Video Released Of Gaithersburg, Derwood Commercial Robbery Suspect

Police are investigating the burglary of European Market in Derwood, and the attempted burglary of Flower Hill Beer store in Gaithersburg.

GAITHERSBURG, MD — Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department continue to investigate the March 4 commercial burglary of the European Market store in Derwood and the attempted commercial burglary of the Flower Hill Beer store in Gaithersburg that are believed to have been committed by the same suspects. Detectives released surveillance video Monday of the suspects and are asking for the public’s help in identifying them.

On Saturday, March 4 at approximately 2:50 a.m., the Emergency Communications Center received a call for an alarm at the Flower Hill Beer store located at 18253 Flower Hill Way in Gaithersburg, police said. Officers arrived to the business and observed that a rock had been used to break out the glass to the front door of the business. Officers determined that the suspects did not gain entry into the business, police said.

A few minutes later, at approximately 3:00 a.m., the Emergency Communications Center received a call for an alarm at the European Market store located at 17605 Redland Road in Derwood. Officers arrived to the store and discovered that a rock had been used to break out the glass to the front door of the business. The surveillance video being released shows the two suspects outside of the European Market before they committed the burglary, police said.

Anyone who recognizes the suspects or has information about these commercial burglaries is asked to contact the 6th District Investigative Section at 240-773-5770. To be eligible for a reward, tipsters may call Crime Solvers of Montgomery County toll-free at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477) or enter a tip online. Crime Solvers will pay a cash reward of up to $10,000 for information provided to them that leads to an arrest and/or indictment of the suspects. Tipsters will remain anonymous.
