(Update) Washington Post IT Worker Posed As ICE Agent: Police
A Gaithersburg man who works at The Washington Post reportedly posed as an ICE agent in Falls Church, and had assault rifles and body armor.
(Updated at 7:25 p.m.) GAITHERSBURG, MD — An information technology worker at The Washington Post has been arrested on weapons charges after authorities said he cruised the streets of Falls Church, Virginia, where he allegedly impersonated a federal immigration officer.
Itai Ozderman, 35, of the 100 block of Elmira Lane in Gaithersburg, Maryland, was charged in Montgomery County Feb. 22 with transporting a handgun in a vehicle and impersonating a police officer, according to Maryland online court records. He was released from jail on $10,000 bond; a court date has not been set.
In February, Montgomery County Police detectives from the Major Crimes were told that Ozderman may have impersonated a police officer in Maryland. When police served a search warrant at his home, detectives found seven handguns, two assault rifles, and a shotgun, along with a loaded handgun, body armor, tactical vests, ammunition, and what appeared to be a Baltimore County Police badge inside a vehicle owned by Ozderman that was parked at the home.

Authorities at the Baltimore County Police Department said that Ozderman was not a police officer and was never employed by the department.
Detectives believe that Ozderman may have represented himself as a police officer in other instances that have not been reported. Investigators ask that anyone with information about Ozderman impersonating a law enforcement officer call police at 240-773-5100.
