Whole Foods Market Kentlands invites you to attend the Annual Fair on Sunday, September 14th.

Join us for a day at the fair on September 14th from 12-4p at Whole Foods Market Kentlands to help raise money for the Whole Kids Foundation

2,116 Garden Grants, 3,381 School Salad Bars, More than 2.7 Million Kids Served

The Whole Kids Foundation just celebrated their 3rd Anniversary and already they have accomplished so much. Their mission is to “support schools and inspire families to improve children’s nutrition and wellness. Given the right opportunities, kids will get excited about fresh fruits, vegetables, whole grains and other nutritious whole foods.” This is done by increasing access to and consumption of these foods in schools, encouraging community action that supports healthier kids and creating support tools for educators, who play a vital role in modeling and teaching healthy choices. The ultimate goal is to end childhood obesity.

What they do:
• Provide schools with salad bars through their partnership with Let’s Move Salad Bars to Schools.
• Provide grants for school gardens and related programs.
• Offer cooking and nutrition education for school teachers and staff.
• Support The Lunch Box online tools, which help cafeterias transition to serving more fresh, whole foods.

Plus, we’re grilling up some favorites for lunch with some healthier choices. Last year, we raised $3,300 – almost enough for 2 garden grants! Can we top that number this year?
