2,000-Pound Steer Rescued From Muddy Ravine In Montgomery County
Crews rescued a 2,000-pound steer from a muddy ravine in Boyds on Monday.

GERMANTOWN, MD — Montgomery County rescue crews freed a 2,000-pound steer on Monday after it got stuck in a muddy ravine in Boyds.
At about 11:15 a.m., officials were called to Star Gazing Farm on Whites Store Road for the report of a trapped animal. The steer, county fire department spokesman Pete Piringer said, was stuck in the muddy ravine for nearly three hours. The temperature outside, he added, felt like 101 degrees.
Eventually, crews freed the steer. Piringer said the animal did not appear to be injured.
