Officers also arrested a suspect after an attempted home entry on Queens Cross Lane. The broader report details auto thefts, assaults, and burglaries across Rockville, Silver Spring, Wheaton, Gaithersburg, and other nearby communities.
   

• Maryland Lottery players go on winning tear with 11 $50K hits in just one week (shorenewsnetwork.com) — A Germantown Sunoco sold one of Maryland's seven $50,000 Pick 5 winning tickets during a week when lottery players statewide claimed nearly $26 million in prizes. The streak also included a $60,000 Big Spin win and multiple other five-figure Scratch-Off, Pick 5, Keno, Racetrax, and Powerball payouts. Several big tickets remain unclaimed, with standard 182-day deadlines to cash in.
