New Music School Heads To Montgomery County
The School of Rock brand will open its third location in Montgomery County in September.
ROCKVILLE, MD — A popular music school is expanding its reach in Montgomery County, with plans set to open a new location next month.
The School of Rock will open its newest location in Rockville and isplanning to make the opening a community event.
Residents wanting to participate in the festivities can do so on Sept. 5 between 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. at 1081 Rockville Pike.

The opening will include free trial lessons, games, live performances by the school's house band and a prize wheel.
Craig Wagenhoffer, who owns the Rockville site, said in a statement that he intends to "put the rock in Rockville" with the new opening.

"Playing guitar has had an incredibly positive impact on my life, and I hope there will be students at the school who end up having that same experience," he said.
Wagenhoffer, whose love of rock music kicked off in the 1970s, chose to open the Rockville location after his 30-year corporate career ended.
The school offers programs for kids as young as four to adults, and includes both one-on-one and group rehearsal courses.
The September opening marks the third location in Montgomery County, with sites already open in Germantown and Silver Spring. Statewide, the brand has eight School of Rock locations in Maryland.
