• Vehicle Thefts, Burglaries, and Assaults Included in Weekend Crime Summary (mocoshow.com) — Over Labor Day weekend, Germantown's 5th District saw shots fired into a home and neighboring residence on Esmond Terrace early Saturday, though no one was hurt. Police also reported a tire theft on Daventry Way, alongside numerous thefts and assaults in other Montgomery County districts.
   

• Vigil marks 12 years since Sarah and Jacob Hoggle vanished as mother's murder trial nears (bethesdamagazine.com) — A small candlelight vigil in a Germantown parking lot brought family and supporters together to remember missing toddlers Sarah and Jacob Hoggle, 12 years after they vanished. Their mother, Catherine Hoggle, is now scheduled to stand trial on murder charges next month, renewing attention and emotion around this long-running local tragedy.
   

• Montgomery County Native Jordan Hawkins Headed to Memphis in Reported Trade (mocoshow.com) — NBA guard Jordan Hawkins, who attended Martin Luther King Jr. Middle School in Germantown and Gaithersburg High School, is reportedly being traded from the New Orleans Pelicans to the Memphis Grizzlies. The Montgomery County native built his career from local gyms to UConn's 2023 national title and now a new NBA opportunity.
