Germantown Boy, 4, Honored By Police For Rescuing Unconscious Mom
On Monday, a four-year-old Germantown resident was recognized for rescuing his mother who was in medical distress.

GERMANTOWN, MD — Dec. 20, 2019 is a date 4-year-old Aiden George will never forget.
It was a Friday afternoon. And on this day, a crying Aiden had walked more than a third of a mile, alone, to get his unconscious mother help.
A concerned Germantown resident found the small child walking on Thunderhead Way and called 9-1-1. When Montgomery County police arrived, they were able to track down Aiden's mother, who was unconscious in a car in the parking lot of Waters Landing Elementary School. Aiden's sister, Malia, was in the car with her.

Because of Aiden's heroic efforts, his mother was taken to a local hospital for treatment. And on Jan. 14, she got to see her son and daughter being recognized by police at a ceremony.
"I often times get to speak about heroic activities of officers. Today, I'm blessed to get to talk about two heroes that are not police officers but did a great job for us here in Germantown," Fifth District Commander Capt. Mark Plazinski said.

Aiden and Malia were given police badges. And for braving an uncertain and cold trek for help, Aiden also received the Commander's Certificate of Appreciation.
"We are so proud of our young residents, Aiden and Malia, working with the police to get their mom the help that they needed. They are true heroes," Plazinski said. "I think it's wonderful that they partnered with the Fifth District officers and they trusted us to do that."
