Germantown Man ID'ed Who Died Single-Car Crash
Police have identified a man who died in a collision Wednesday on Bethesda Church Road in Montgomery County.
MONTGOMERY COUNTY, MD — Police have identified the man who died Wednesday in a single-car crash on Bethesda Church Road in Montgomery County.
According to police, the crash occurred around 1:20 a.m. near the intersection of Johnson Drive.
Police said 28-year-old Michael Patrick Fitzgerald Jr. of Germantown was driving a 2025 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross northbound on Bethesda Church Road when, for reasons still under investigation, the car left the road and collided with a tree.

Upon arrival, first responders found Fitzgerald unconscious inside the Mitsubishi. He was taken to an area hospital, where he later died from his injuries, police said.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
