Hurricane Sandy: Flood-Prone Roads to Avoid

It only takes six inches of water to cause most passenger cars to lose control. A foot of water to will send that car afloat, according to Montgomery County Fire & Rescue Service. County rescuers warn residents to avoid the following flood-prone roads upcounty:
Germantown region
- MD 118 (Germantown Road) at Great Seneca Creek, south of Germantown
- Hoyles Mill Road at ford of Little Seneca Creek in Germantown, west of soccer complex
- MD 117 (Clopper Road) at Little Seneca Creek, east of Boyds
- MD 355 (Frederick Road) at Little Seneca Creek, west of Brink
- MD 121 (Clarksburg Road) near Little Seneca Lake, north of Boyds
- Blunt Road at Great Seneca Creek, south of Brink Road
Gaithersburg region
