Overturned Truck Slows Morning Traffic on I-270

An overturned truck slowed morning commuter traffic on northbound Interstate 270, closing right lane and right shoulder, Montgomery County State Police Sgt. Eric Corbin said.

A red Toyota and a box truck collided at around 8 a.m. between the Middlebrook and Montgomery Village exits, Sgt. Corbin said.

Two people were transported to local hospitals for nonlife-threatening injuries, said Capt. Oscar Garcia, Montgmery County Fire & Rescue Service spokesman.

As of 8:45 a.m., the right two lanes of traffic remained closed as clean up crews removed debris, Corbin said.

Police were still on the scene investigating the cause.
