Police: Crash Victim Was Vacationing from Russia

Daria Yuryevna Soboleva, 20, was spending the summer in Maryland.

Police have released the identity of the woman killed in a fiery crash in Dickerson earlier this month.

Daria Yuryevna Soboleva was a 20-year-old Russian citizen who was spending the summer in Ocean City, Md., but had made a trip to the Washington area at the time of the crash, according to Montgomery County Police.

On June 5, Police and emergency personnel responded to at Dickerson and Mount Ephraim road at around 12:45 a.m.

According to investigators, a 2002 Honda Civic traveling east on Dickerson Road left the roadway and struck a railroad bridge overpass. Bystanders were able to rescue Martinez, but the car burst into flames before Soboleva could be rescued.

Soboleva was pronounced dead at the scene.

Front-seat passenger Oscar Armando Chavez Martinez, 23, of Germantown, was flown to Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore with life-threatening injuries.

The collision is still under investigation.
