Victim’s Intestines Visible From Stomach Wound In Beer Store Fight
Police arrested Fernando Orondez of Germantown for cutting another man inside of Germantown Beer and Wine Plus.
GERMANTOWN, MD — A man allegedly cut another man with a knife in a local beer and wine store in Germantown. The cut was so bad that the victim's intestines were visible from his stomach wound, police said.
On the afternoon of March 26, Montgomery County Police responded to a call for an alcohol-fueled fight at the Germantown Beer and Wine Plus in the 19500 block of Frederick Road.
Responding officers found a man with a stab wound so deep that his intestines were showing, police said. Paramedics were forced to wrap the man's bloody intestines and keep his airways clear as he began to lose consciousness.

Police arrested Fernando Orondez, 42, of Germantown, who's facing charges of attempted first-degree murder and first-degree assault, which is punishable up to life in prison.
Surveillance video allegedly captured footage of the fight, and multiple witnesses told police they saw Orondez involved in the fistfight with two other men inside of the store. Witnesses said all three men were allegedly drinking inside the store before the fight, police said.

Witnesses said the fight broke up at one point, but Orondez reportedly returned to with a large knife in his hand.
According to WJLA, Orondez is a citizen of Honduras and has lived in Montgomery County for about 14 years. ICE (U.S. Immigrations and Customs Enforcement) filed an immigration detainer against Orondez on March 27.
Orondez is expected to appear in Montgomery County District Court at 10 a.m. April 21.
