2 Firefighters Hospitalized After House Fire

Two firefighters with the Anne Arundel County Fire Department were injured over the weekend in Glen Burnie, officials told Patch.

ANNE ARUNDEL CO., MD — Two firefighters were hospitalized over the weekend after responding to a house fire in Glen Burnie, officials confirmed to Patch.

First responders arrived at a house fire on the 7900 block of Queens Road just before 5 p.m. on Sunday. Authorities were alerted to the scene by a neighbor.

Jennifer Macallair, spokesperson for the Anne Arundel County Fire Department, told Patch that two of the responding firefighters were hospitalized for heat exhaustion and that both have since been released.

"Both are doing well," Macallair said.

Although crews initially entered the home, officials ultimately evacuated the grounds due to concerns of a possible collapse.

No one was at home at the time of the fire, Macallair told Patch.

An investigation into the cause is ongoing.
