Baltimore Washington Medical Center (BWMC) President and CEO Karen E. Olscamp has been named Business Leader of the Year by the Annapolis and Anne Arundel County Chamber of Commerce.
According to a press release from BWMC, nominations were judged by the Chamber's Executive Committee. Selection was based on the individual's business vision, leadership ability, ethical business practices, corporate citizenship attributes and record of business accomplishments.
"I am very honored to have won the award," said Olscamp, who has been BWMC’s president and CEO since 2008. "This award is a tribute to our employees and member of the medical staff at BWMC which I am very proud of. They are the reason I was chosen for this recognition."

Olscamp has been at BWMC since 1987. She began her career there as an administrative resident. She advanced to Vice President of Operations and then served as Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for ten years. She was appointed President and Chief Executive Officer in August 2008.
