Press Release – May 20th, 2013
On Sunday, May 19th, Captains Sharing &
Caring launched their 2013 Summer Season.
Stansbury Yacht Basin, under the direction of Pat Williford and her team, hosted the day for everyone. There
were 7 families, 38 people, plus 6 boats full of people and everyone helped Captains Sharing & Caring launch their 2013 summer. Without all of the volunteers, in many
different capacities, Captains Sharing & Caring would not exist. Stansbury had a great picnic, with great Chef
Ray Beaty making those burgers and dogs on the grill, lots of sides and desserts. They also provided a pair of
face painters, pirate hats, balloons, etc. Pirate Paul showed and was a great hit with the kids, it was a wonderful day! Each child went home with a gift bag.
Inside were all types of things, including a first in the series, Blackbear the Pirate book, generously donated by the author, Steve Buckley. There were also gift cards for the parents, to assist with gas expenses on their travels home from the Chesapeake Bay.
In spite of the overcast skies a great day was had by all!
