Black Man Threatened With Knife, Called Racial Slurs: Police

A press release says the victim said he was threatened with a knife and called racial slurs by a man who was arrested soon after.

GLEN BURNIE, MD — Police responded to the area of Baltimore Annapolis Boulevard and Faywood Avenue Friday morning on a call of an assault, according to a press release from the Anne Arundel County Police Department.

The victim, a black man, was in an argument with Mark Rohde, 54, of the 7900 block of Bensch Circle in Glen Burnie, when it took a dark turn, according to the victim's statement in the press release.

Rohde is alleged to have pulled out a folding pocket knife, threatening the victim and calling him racial slurs. Luckily, there were no injuries in the incident.

Rohde was found a short distance away from the incident, police say, and was charged with attempted first degree assault, attempted second degree assault, reckless endangerment and racial harassment against a person.
