Daryl Jones Pleads Guilty to Tax Charge
The U.S. Attorney's office filed charges against Daryl Jones (D-1st District) claiming he didn't file income tax returns in 2005 when he was a criminal defense attorney.

Anne Arundel County Councilman Daryl Jones (D-1st District) pled guilty on Tuesday in U.S. District Court for failing to file income taxes and must repay more than $100,000 to the federal government.
Jones, of Severn, he failed to file the taxes because he had a lot on his plate that year. But Jones now faces up to a year in jail and $25,000 in fines for the oversight.
According to a plea agreement Jones signed, between 2002-2006 for his law office and a tavern he owned. The plea agreement states Jones must repay the taxes in the amount of $108,369.

Jones' sentencing will be heard Nov. 28 in District Court in Baltimore.
