Anne Arundel County Public Schools is teaming up with the Clay Street Learning Center, We Care and Friends and Annapolis Recreation and Parks to offer a workshop to provide parents with information about being integral partners in the education of their children.
The free event, "How To Get Involved In Your Child’s Education," will take place on Oct. 14 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Stanton Community Center.
Presenters include Annapolis Elementary School Principal Sue Myers, Bates Middle School Principal Diane Bragdon, Annapolis Elementary School Counselor Andrea Beckman, AACPS Student Data Administrator Susan Gilbert, AACPS Resource Teacher Debbie Ray, and AACPS Equity Assurance and Human Relations Specialist Akeda Stenbar.

The presenters will address topics from helping your child get good grades to the Kids At Hope and PEEC-Out programs; to the AACPS website and to the school system’s ParentConnect page, which allows parents to monitor grades, attendance and homework assignments.
George "Lassie" Belt of the Stanton Community Center, Mark Thomas of the Clay Street Learning Center and Larry Griffin of We Care and Friends will also discuss the importance of parental involvement and programs available at the centers.
