BWMC Offers Exercise Classes to Community

Baltimore Washington Medical Center will offer the next session of exercise classes at its campus on Hospital Drive beginning Monday, January 9, 2012. Beginning Yoga, Pilates, Yoga/Pilates Combination, Prenatal Yoga, Zumba and Weight Training classes are taught by certified instructors of R U Fit and are limited to 20 participants per class.

The session will run for eight consecutive weeks and participants must pre-register for all eight weeks of the session. The cost of the eight-week session is $40. Interested participants can register online at mybwmc.org. Visa, MasterCard, and Discover are accepted.

Yoga provides improved flexibility, strength, coordination and concentration by providing a means of reducing stress and relaxing the body and mind. By focusing on strengthening the abdominal core, Pilates provides improved flexibility, coordination and stamina. Participants are asked to wear loose, comfortable clothing and to bring their own yoga mat. Prior experience is not required for most classes.
