To promote peripheral arterial disease month in September, Baltimore Washington Medical Center is offering two free vascular lectures for the community. BWMC nurse practitioner Terry DeVeaux, CRNP, presents, “Avoiding a Road Block: Preventing and Treating Peripheral Arterial Disease (PAD)” on Wednesday, September 12 at 6:30 p.m. at Baltimore Washington Medical Center, located at 301Hospital Drive in Glen Burnie. This informative discussion will include information about arteriosclerosis, the narrowing or “hardening of the arteries” that cause PAD. All attendees will receive a voucher for a free PAD screening. BWMC vascular surgeon Dr. Marshall Benjamin presents, “A Leg Up: Understanding and Treating Vein Disorders on Wednesday, September 26 at 6:30 p.m. at Baltimore Washington Health Services, located at 7556 Teague Road, Suite 440 in Hanover. Disorders of the veins, including DVT(deep vein thrombosis) and venous insufficiency will be discussed.
