Happy Saturday, Glen Burnie! Here's everything you need to know to get this day started off right. Enjoy your weekend and stay safe!
First, today's weather:
A shower in the p.m.; windy. High: 52 Low: 38. Brrrr too windy for a bonfire... I suggest staying inside under the covers!
Here are the top 4 stories today in Glen Burnie:
- Glen Burnie Gophers for the win! Glen Burnie was able to break a tie to bring home the win at Thursday's game against Poly. (Baltimore Sun)
- A 1953 Glen Burnie home looks stunning after a remodel brought it into the 21st century. Additions to the home, plus dramatic updates and improvements, make this home a joy to live in. Located on 204 Kuethe Road, NE the owners are asking $350K. (Patch)
- The Glen Burnie Volunteer Fire Co is celebrating 100 years of service to the community. With the help of the very community they serve, they are able to purchase equipment to keep the area and it's citizens safe. (GBVFC/Facebook)
- Are you crafty? Then you're just my type! The American Legion at 500 5th Ave. will be hosting a craft and vendor spring fair on May 1. Anyone who wants to participate please contact Lisa Lima. (Facebook)

From my notebook:
- Concern is growing over the amount of home fires that have been happening. Neighbors are upset about the amount fires happening in Glen Burnie and Ferndale as of late. Several have had fatalities. Sadly, there are no career personnel assigned to the Ferndale Fire Station anymore for the fire engines. (Nextdoor)
- Stop the madness! AA First Alert on Facebook is looking for a list of AA/NA/Al-Anon/Alateen meetings. Fighting addiction is hard, doing it alone is harder. Giving people the resources they need to better themselves is a win-win situation. (AA First Alert/Facebook)
- March 26 is Live Long and Prosper Day. March 27 is National Scribble Day. (Holidays and Observances)
- Maryland fun fact: The Gazette, founded in 1727 as The Maryland Gazette, is one of the oldest newspapers in America. One of its locations was on Crain Highway. A printed copy of the paper can still be bought on Wednesdays and Saturdays, it can also be viewed on the web. (Wikipedia)
