A Glen Burnie house fire sent a woman to the hospital and damaged two homes, Anne Arundel County Fire officials say.

GLEN BURNIE, MD — A Glen Burnie house fire sent a woman to the hospital early Thursday and damaged two homes, Anne Arundel County Fire officials say. Several people called 911 about 2:30 a.m. to report a house on fire in the 200 block of Margate Drive. Firefighters say one home was heavily involved in fire and the exterior of a second home also burned.
Forty firefighters brought the fire under control in about 30 minutes. A 55-year-old woman who lived in one of the apartments in the home was alerted to the fire by neighbors and escaped before firefighters arrived. Paramedics took her to Baltimore Washington Medical Center with minor injuries, officials said.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Anne Arundel County Fire Department Fire and Explosives Investigation Unit and is undetermined so far. Damages are estimated at $65,000 for the home where the fire started and $15,000 to the second home with exterior damage.
