Glen Burnie Football Falls To Southern, 34-20 (Video)
The homestanding Gophers fall behind early and are unable to catch up.
Visiting Southern scored twice in the second quarter to take a 14-0 lead as was defeated 34-20 .
The Gophers closed the deficit with touchdown runs by Brandon Walker at the end of the second quarter and then again early in the third, but the Bulldogs pulled away with two touchdowns of their own to take control of the contest in the fourth quarter.
The two teams would trade touchdowns in the game's final minutes as Glen Burnie's comeback attempt fell short.

"We gave up big plays defensively, but I don't think our kids gave up," Glen Burnie head coach Nicholas Good-Malloy said. "They played extremely hard."
The team was coming off of an upset win last week over Broadneck, and now must regroup before traveling to Chesapeake.

"We'll break this game down, learn what we can from it and move on," Good-Malloy said. "We still have a lot of work to do."
