Glen Burnie Man Among 2 Arrested in String of Break-Ins

Anne Arundel County police arrested two men in connection with a five-week series of thefts in Severna Park.

While continuing the investigation, police are trying to return stolen jewelry to the rightful owners—many who weren't aware the thefts took place.

According to Anne Arundel County Police spokesman Justin Mulcahy, detectives have identified numerous victims from daytime burglaries from April 1 to May 7 in several communities including: Shipley's Choice, Manhattan Beach, Cape Arthur and Olde Severna Park.

“Many people may not even be aware that they are victims,” Mulcahy said in an email.

Mulcahy said two suspects have been charged so far in relation to two burglaries. Kevin Ickes, 24, of Pasadena and Robert Berg, 26, of Glen Burnie, were both charged.

An investigation led detectives to Ickes' address on May 6 and some stolen property was found at the home. Further investigation led police to Berg, and a search warrant was served at his home on May 7. Police found stolen property at Berg's address as well.

Mulcahy said the burglaries happened during the daytime and many were not reported.

Items that were taken were jewelry, not electronics, Mulcahy said. Police have identified at least 10 victims at this time, but have a lot of stolen property that they are attempting to reunite with owners.

“We believe there could be many other victims out there and possibly other burglaries beyond the communities I already mentioned,” Mulcahy wrote.
