Glen Burnie Man in Critical Condition After Crash

A crash involving a car and a motorcycle occurred Monday night at the intersection of Fort Smallwood and Solley roads in Pasadena.

Police released details on Wednesday morning about a crash on Monday night in Pasadena where a Glen Burnie man on a motorcycle suffered life-threatening injuries.

According to Anne Arundel County police, responders reported to the crash scene at the intersection of Fort Smallwood and Solley roads on Monday just before 7 p.m.

Police said responders found a man laying in the roadway, after his Harley-Davidson motorcycle was involved in a crash. He was taken to Maryland Shock Trauma in Baltimore and remains there in critical condition, according to a police press release.

The preliminary investigation by police revealed that the man on the motorcycle was traveling north on Fort Smallwood Road and attempted to turn left onto Solley Road. The man reportedly failed to yield the right of way to vehicles traveling south on Fort Smallwood Road, and turned into the path of a Ford Escort that struck the motorcycle.

The Pasadena man driving the Escort was not injured, according to police.

The crash is still under investigation but police do not believe speed was a factor. However, they said in a press release that "possible intoxication by alcohol and/or drugs may have been a contributory factor by both parties involved in this crash."
