Glen Burnie Mom Kills 2-Year-Old Then Herself: Police

LANDOVER, MD — Prince George's County Police are investigating the apparent murder-suicide of a 2-year-old boy and his mother in Landover. Authorities say 2-year-old Joseph Wang of Gumper Court in Glen Burnie was killed by his mother, Yu Song, 34, of the 400 block of Gumper Court in Glen Burnie.

The Homicide Unit is investigating the domestic-related murder/suicide, including a possible motive.

About 10 p.m. Saturday, a family member called 911 asking police to check on the well-being of those at a house in the 1700 block of Countrywood Court. When officers arrived, they found the child and his mother inside a townhouse; both were pronounced dead on the scene. Both Wang and Song died of asphyxiation, police said.

The preliminary investigation reveals the mother killed her young son then took her own life.
