Glen Burnie Woman Dies In Car Crash, Two Injured: Police Report
A 19-year-old woman was killed in a single-vehicle crash near Old Elkridge Landing Road. Two 21-year-old men were seriously injured.
GLEN BURNIE, MD — A Glen Burnie woman has died in a single-car accident near Old Elkridge Landing Road and Furnace Road. The incident occurred Tuesday at approximately 3:30 a.m. A 2017 Ford Mustang driven by Ryan Sungchan Neukam, 21, of Halethorpe was traveling east on Old Elkridge Landing Road near Furnace Road when it encountered a curve in the roadway. According to the Anne Arundel County Police Department, the Mustang veered off the right side of the road and entered a wooded area where it struck a tree.
Neukam and Eric Montel Powell, Jr., 21, of Glen Burnie, sustained serious injuries and were taken to Shock Trauma. Powell was sitting in the back seat. Rachael Bonet Thompkins, 19, of Glen Burnie, was sitting in the front passenger seat and was killed. According to the police department, speed and alcohol appear to have contributed to the crash.
