When I was young, still too young to go to school, my dad taught me to eat raw oysters. He would stand at the kitchen sink and shuck oysters, he would hand one to me from time to time, and I would eat it of course. I am allmost 60 now and I have been eating raw oysters for many decades. In those many decades I have eaten and swallowed oyster shell, but that is all right, after all, let us not forget that age old adage, this too shall pass. It is all right to eat and swallow oyster shell it will not harm you. However, if you take that oyster shell and cut it with a saw blade it will create a dust, that dust is highly toxic. You can eat the shell of an oyster and it will cause you no harm, but if you breathe the dust from that shell, that dust will turn as glass in your lungs, and there is nothing that they can do about it. I have told you this small story, this true story, in hopes that it would make you think. When you go messing around with things that you know about, or things that you do not understand, it may be wise to back off and take time to learn about these things. In my time I have cut many ounces of Pearl, with my jewelers saw, and I have created much dust. My breathing is fine, but I took the time to learn, I looked before I lept.
