MD Teen Charged In VSU Mass Shooting That Left 5 Injured: Report (patch.com) — Glen Burnie readers will recognize the local tie in the arrest of 19-year-old Ja'niah Johnson, who is charged as an accessory after the fact in a mass shooting at Virginia State University that injured five people. Authorities say the suspected gunman from Virginia was found hiding in Johnson's dorm closet, and she is now free on recognizance while awaiting arraignment as investigators continue probing the multi-suspect attack.
   

2. Rent Dispute Leads To Gunfire At Glen Burnie Complex: Police (patch.com) — Residents near Marley Station Mall may be alarmed after police say a rent dispute at a Glen Burnie apartment complex ended with a Pennsylvania man firing a gun at a car as it drove away. Nobody was hurt, but officers recovered a handgun in nearby bushes, and the suspect now faces attempted murder and assault charges while being held without bond.
   

3. Empire Towers Building Hits Repair Milestone: Report (patch.com) — Residents and business owners in Glen Burnie are learning that phase one of emergency repairs at the troubled Empire Towers building is complete, with 1,500 vertical shoring posts now in place. Contractors will spend at least six more weeks adding horizontal bracing, meaning tenants still locked out of offices and cars may not regain access until late September if no new problems arise.
   

4. Three stabbed inside Glen Burnie home before cops Taser murder suspect (shorenewsnetwork.com) — Three people were stabbed inside a Glen Burnie home on Morningside Drive late Sunday night, and all were hospitalized in stable condition. Anne Arundel County Police say officers used Tasers to subdue a 38-year-old Glen Burnie man, who now faces multiple attempted murder and assault charges while remaining presumed innocent in court.
