Pedestrian Hit on Glen Burnie Road: Police
Anne Arundel County Police say a woman who walked across a Glen Burnie road outside a crosswalk was hit by a car Monday night.

Glen Burnie, MD — A Glen Burnie woman was seriously injured when she was hit Monday night while crossing a street, police say.
The accident happened just before 11 p.m. on Andover Road near Broadview Boulevard North in Glen Burnie.
Witnesses told Anne Arundel County Police a 2012 Volkswagen Passat driven by Viktor Brown, 52, of Mount Vernon, NY, was northbound on Andover Road. The car had just crossed the light rail tracks when Rochelle Y. Hall, 47, of Glen Burnie stepped out into the road in front of the vehicle.

Hall was struck by the Volkswagen and thrown forward, landing in the road. She was taken by ambulance to Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore with life-threatening injuries, police say.
Brown was not injured and remained at the scene.

Investigators say the preliminary cause of the crash is the pedestrian’s failure to yield right of way to vehicles while crossing the road outside of an intersection.
Police say darkness and lack of street lighting where the crash occurred contributed to the accident.
The Traffic Safety Section is handling the investigation and any charges are pending review by the State’s Attorney’s office.
