Police Investigating Shooting on Elvaton Road

A 21-year-old man is in stable condition after a fight led to a shooting on Elvaton Road late Friday afternoon, Anne Arundel County police said.

Police responded to the 7900 block of Elvaton Road at 4:45 p.m. Friday and found a man lying in the street with a gunshot wound to the lower body, according to a new release. The victim was treated on the scene and transported to the University of Maryland Hospital Trauma Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

The victim said he was shot while walking in the road, the release said. Police said they later learned the man had been in a car with people he knew when he got into a fight. As the victim was getting out of the car on Elvaton Road, he was shot and fell to the ground, the release said. The suspects fled the scene in a silver vehicle.

Police searched the area but were unable to locate the suspects.
