Accused Shooter In Custody, One Man Dead: Update
Anne Arundel County Police have arrested a man in a fatal Glen Burnie shooting Monday, 10 hours after shots were fired.

GLEN BURNIE, MD — After 10 hours of searching, Anne Arundel County Police have a man in custody who is accused in a Glen Burnie fatal shooting. About 5 p.m. Monday police tweeted that the accused shooter was under arrest, police were leaving the area and Oakwood Road should soon reopen. Officers searched the Colonial Square Apartments for the gunman and students who walk home from two area schools instead had to be picked up at the end of classes, authorities said.
One man was shot to death in the Colonial Square Apartment complex about 7 a.m., police said. The names of the suspect and victim have not been released.
Residents were asked to avoid the area during the manhunt. Shortly before 4 p.m. police said the suspected shooter was believed to be contained inside an apartment.

WBAL TV reports that one adult is dead and the Oak View Village Apartments were shut down. The shooting occurred in the Colonial Square Apartments.
There was no threat to any county schools, and all schools dismissed at their normal times on Monday, Anne Arundel County Public Schools said at 2:30 p.m. on its website.

The shooting suspect was described by police as a white man who is believed to be in the 100 block of Virginia Lane, the location of the Colonial Square Apartments. Police closed Oakwood Road across from Granite Baptist Church. “We’re fairly confident we have him in a certain area,” Police spokeswoman Sgt. Jackie Davis told The Capital-Gazette.

Woodside Elementary School and Corkran Middle School students who normally walk home from school on Oakwood Road and who live north of Granite Baptist School were not allowed to walk home Monday. Those students must be picked up by a parent or guardian at the school. Other walkers, car riders, and bus riders will be dismissed via the normal routes at that time.
