Teen Facing Multiple Gun Charges After Traffic Stop: Police

An 18-year-old was hit with multiple gun-related charges after being pulled over during a traffic stop in Glen Burnie.

GLEN BURNIE, MD — A teenager is facing multiple gun-related charges after being pulled over during a traffic stop in Glen Burnie.

Anne Arundel County Police identified the teen as 18-year-old Christopher J Malik McLeod.

Court records show McLeod is facing a total of eight charges, all of which are misdemeanors except for one: possessing a stolen registered firearm.

The other charges include:

  • Handgun in a vehicle and on a person
  • Loaded handgun inside a vehicle and on a person
  • Illegal possession of ammunition
  • Reckless endangerment
  • Minor in possession of a firearm

All of the counts stem from a loaded 9mm Springfield Arms handgun that was recovered from the Ford F-150 that McLeod was driving.

Police said the traffic stop took place Friday around 10 p.m. on Solley Road, near Tanyard Springs Lane.

Not only was McLeod prohibited from possessing firearms due to his age, but police said that the gun had been reported stolen.

Records show McLeod was released on his own recognizance. A court hearing is scheduled for July 17.
