County Police Officer Suspended after Baltimore Arrest
The second Prince George's County Police Department officer to be charged with assault in a week has been suspended.

A Prince George’s County Police Officer is suspended with pay after he was charged Saturday by the Baltimore Police Department with second-degree assault.
Police Officer Michael O’Connell was off duty when he was arrested, says the Prince George’s department on its blog.
An administrative investigation into O’Connell is under way, and he will face an administrative hearing.

O’Connell has been employed by the Prince George’s Police Department for three years, and is assigned to the Bureau of Patrol.
O’Connell is the second Prince George’s County police officer suspended for second-degree assault in the past week.

Probationary Officer Themis Speis was suspended from the department after he was charged Sept. 14 with second-degree assault. The assault stemmed from a domestic situation while Speis was off duty. The victim suffered minor injuries and was treated at a hospital.
