HdG Plans 2 Memorial Day Ceremonies With Caveats Amid Coronavirus
During services at two locations, Havre de Grace will honor service members who lost their lives, and promote social distancing.
HAVRE DE GRACE, MD — Havre de Grace will recognize veterans who lost their lives serving their country with two Memorial Day ceremonies, as has been tradition. However, in a change from years past, there will be no luncheon afterward at the American Legion.
"We will be doing the Memorial Day services," Havre de Grace City Councilman Jason Robertson said during Monday night's City Council meeting.
"The American Legion will be having a small service at Angel Hill Cemetery," Robertson said, followed by another service near the War Memorial at Tydings Park.

"We're asking people to wear their masks," Robertson said. "We encourage that very much, if not for you for the elderly person that will probably be near you, and we also ask that folks maintain a good distance between themselves."
The Memorial Day ceremony will be at 9 a.m. Monday, May 25, at Angel Hill Cemetery, 750 Ohio St., Havre de Grace, MD 21078.
