"This was not an easy decision for us to make," the Havre de Grace Independence Day Commission said in a statement.

HAVRE DE GRACE, MD — The Havre de Grace Fourth of July Parade has been canceled for 2020. Organizers said public health guidance drove the decision.
"It is our sad duty to inform you that today we are officially announcing the cancellation of this year's Independence Day Celebration in Havre de Grace," the Havre de Grace Independence Day Commission said in a statement.
"This was not an easy decision for us to make," organizers said Wednesday. "However, in accordance with local and state officials, and in accordance with Governor Hogan's Safer at Home Advisory, cancelling this year's parade, concerts, and fireworks is the only responsible and safe decision to make in the face of this year's global pandemic. Believe us - we are as disappointed as you are."
