Proper funding for the entire budget to avoid any significant reductions that will ultimately harm students How do you intend to address those issues? Advocate directly with the county administration with fact based research to justify the budget request based on needs.
How do you differ from other candidates running against you? We have very similar points of view and so I can only speak to what I know about my plan. In brief terms, I plan to leverage my existing relationship with the community to further advocate for the needs of all students, staff, and families.
How would your work experience benefit the goals/objectives you’ve outlined in your campaign and/or the office you’re seeking?
I have significant experience in the area of budget management, personnel oversight, and safety and security. All of these are at the top of the priority list with the community and the board of education.
What is your opinion of the work being done by the current office holder, and how will you improve on it? If that is you - how do you plan to continue improving upon what you've already accomplished?
I believe the District Representative for the Board of Education should be a person who is known within the community, and willing to connect with constituents we serve. I will not be a person who just shows up at board meetings, but instead I will be a welcomed voice who will represent the entire community instead of a select few.
How do you feel about the school system in your area and what improvements would you like to see be made?
I believe the Harford County Public School system is amazing, and with the right support can only get better. To continue this effort we need to remove the adversarial relationship between the county administration and the system. This of course requires an open handed approach from both sides and the ability to listen and apply facts to decisions.
How do you feel about crime in your area and what steps can be taken to reduce it?
Thankfully crime in Harford County is relatively low and with the continued partnerships with law enforcement we can continue this overall trend.
What else would you like voters to know about you?
I am excited for this opportunity and look forward to sharing my vision with the community. One point that I have made clear is I will be a representative who knows how to listen first, and then apply knowledge to making decisions.
