At Least 3 To File For May Election

Tuesday begins a two-week period for residents to declare for May's election.

Three candidates have confirmed that they will run for , as the window to declare for the May 8 election .

Incumbents and have told  they intend to file for the election when the filing period begins Tuesday. The seats belonging to Miller, Cullum and are up for election.

Resident —a Havre de Grace native and a longtime volunteer in the community—has confirmed he will run for City Council.

Martin has not confirmed that he will run, though he told he's leaning toward running for another term.

The deadline to file for election is 5 p.m. on March 20.

Havre de Grace residents may also register to vote up until April 17. To be eligible to vote, residents must have 21 days of residency in Havre de Grace, be a U.S. citizen, and be at least 18 years of age.

Terms for council members and the mayor run for two years. Three council members are up for election every other year. Mayor Wayne Dougherty and council members Randy Craig, John Correri and Barbara Wager were .
