Barn Fire In Darlington Caused $20K In Damage: Fire Marshal
A two-alarm fire on Trappe Church Road in Darlington remains under investigation, the Office of the State Fire Marshal reports.

DARLINGTON, MD — A barn fire caused $20,000 in damage in Darlington Monday morning, according to the Office of the State Fire Marshal. The two-alarm blaze took two hours for crews to control, officials said.
At 5:41 a.m., crews were dispatched to the 2100 block of Trappe Church Road for a working barn fire, according to Rich Gardiner, spokesman for the Harford County Volunteer Fire and EMS Association.
The flames from the barn blaze exposed a nearby residence, Gardiner said.

According to investigators, a neighbor had discovered the fire and notified authorities.
About 50 firefighters from the Darlington Volunteer Fire Company and surrounding agencies worked to bring the fire under control.

There was $10,000 in structural damage to the one-story masonry barn, the fire marshal reported. About $10,000 worth of items inside the barn were also lost, official said.
Nobody was injured, according to the fire marshal, who reported Monday afternoon that the origin and cause of the blaze remain under investigation.
