Birthday Parade Celebrates HdG Man Turning 100

A Havre de Grace resident was treated to a birthday parade.

HAVRE DE GRACE, MD — A birthday gift was delivered Thursday to one very special Havre de Grace resident.

Rev. Marcus Stansbury was turning 100, and a birthday parade was organized in his honor.

The Havre de Grace Police Department was slated to be in attendance as the community celebrated the man the Havre de Grace Colored School Foundation called a "local treasure."

The parade was at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 14, in the 400 block of South Stokes Street.

Stansbury, who graduated from the Havre de Grace Colored School, is also a World War II veteran.
