Have you seen the Dr. Pepper TEN commercial that states it's not for women? It also goes on to state that it's only 10 manly calories. Seriously? Give me a break! I don't find it amusing; I find it in very poor taste. The Dr. Pepper Facebook page displays the add in print, if you would like to view it.
I am actually surprised that the Dr. Pepper Snapple Group hasn't come under fire from women's organizations for this line of advertising. I'm amazed that an employee or consultant for the company didn't raise a concern that it was going to stir controversy.
Maybe times have changed and sexism in advertising is an acceptable practice? If so, I didn't get that memo. I also don't see other beverage companies avertising that their drinks are too girly for men. Come to think of it, I wouldn't want to drink something that advertised that either.

The group's webpage for diversity is particurally interesting to me, because it gets pretty in-depth on its list of characteristcs for qualified applicants that they don't disregard or make basis for hiring on. I wish they could carry that into their product advertising campaigns!
There's usually a trend in advertising, so my question now is what beverage is next? Will coffee, alcohol, juice become too manly for women? I guess I have to wait and see. I'm just thankful that I have a mute button so I don't have to listen to anything I don't want to!
